Taking a HIV test in Bangkok

A lot of tourists comes to Thailand everyday. Fall in love with a hot Thai chick, traveling with her inside Thailand while banging like rabbits every night.

That is all fine! 😀

If you meet a girl that you really like, and you want to spend your entire vacation with her. I suggest both you and the girl go and take a HIV test.

That way you can drop that awful condom and have worry free sex every night. Just make sure that she’s on the pill so you don’t end up with a baby! You can buy contraceptive pills on every Pharmacy in Thailand for about 250 baht without prescription.

Most girls I’ve been with down here use a brand called Jasmine, so I guess it’s the best one, what do I know???

A good place I found to take HIV test is at Thai Red Cross Clinic. The address is ‘104 Ratchadamri Road, Pathumwan, Bangkok 10330’. It’s located just 5 minutes walking distance from Ratchadamri BTS station. It only costs 200 baht to take the test. 500 baht if you want to get tested for HIV, syphilis and hepatitis. You get the answer within 1 hour and the whole process takes about 2-3 hours.

Address in Thai: เลขที่ 104ถนนราชดำริ, แขวงปทุมวัน เขตปทุมวัน กรุงเทพมหานคร, 10330

Open: 07.00 to 15.00 Monday to Friday

How to get there

Take the skytrain to Ratchadamri BTS station. When you leave the station go off at exit 1. When you get down the stairs from the station onto the street, go the opposite way of the stairs (turn 180 degrees). Walk for about 5 minutes and you will see a big white building on the right side that almost look like a windmill / lighthouse. Just left to this building there is a glass entrance. This is the clinic that you want to get to. See picture under.

How it works

20160704_090234When you enter the clinic you will be greeted by a person that works at the clinic. He or she tells you to take a queue number from the queue number machine. This number will follow you throughout the process. There seems to be absolutely zero order to the numbers that are read up, and they are read up in Thai. You need to look at the TV every time a new number is read up.

There are five steps you have to go through, and you will be called upon on the TV all of these times. The steps are:

  • Registration
  • A small interview about what tests you want to do
  • Cashier
  • Blood test
  • Results

The first four steps took about an hour for me, and the result will come in about an hour later. You are escorted into a private room with a lady reading up your results. I don’t care how careful you are with who you have sex with, this is pretty damn nerve wrecking situation… Luckily she give you the results very fast, and if everything is fine she will say that pretty much 2 seconds after you enter the room. She did that with me. 🙂

She will also ask you why you came to take the test, who you had sex with, and if you use condoms. Just answer honest, and she will give you her advice. When I left the room she gave me a handful of condoms and wished me good luck. 😀

This test is super cheap and can save you a lot of trouble. You might have found the one girl that is innocent as a lamb, telling you that she only ever had one Thai boyfriend (which might be true too). However, you never know if that Thai boyfriend was a total asshole and fucked every slut in his village.

Always play it safe guys!
